Wine List
Here are some highlights from our extensive list of over 60 international wines:
Proprietor's Reserve - £12.50 per bottle
The Red and Dry white come from Patriarche Pere et Fils in Beaune, they are 'Vin de Table' blended to represent true Burgundian characteristics. The Medium Dry white comes from a very modern Co-operative Cellar in Gascony where the emphasis is on extracting the maximum fresh fruity flavour from the Colombard grape.
Mad Fish' Unwooded Chardonnay, W. Australia 2002 - £22.50
A fresh and immediately appealing aroma of fruit leaps from the glass to meet you. The first taste of this wine does not dissapoint - lush and lively, reminiscent of grapefruit and melon followed with a tangy bight of acidity to tickle the tongue.
Sharpham 'Dart Valley Reserve', Sharpham Estate 2002 - £15.50
An exceptional wine made from grapes grown on a picturesque and well sheltered bend of the river Dart. Light and fragrant in the German manner and gently fruity with a pleasantly dry finish.
Casa Piedra, Cabernet Sauvignon, Valdivieso 2001- £13.50
Casa Piedra, from top notch company, Valdivieso, exudes the relaxed, easy going qualities of the country itself combining friendly blackcurrant fruit with silky tannins.
Casa Silva, Classic Merlot, Colchagua Valley 2004- £17.25
Made from low yielding older Merlot vines grown in the Colchagua Valley of Chile. The style here is restrained and 'European' with dense packed dark berry fruit flavours and the distinct toasted finish that well made wines from this grape often exhibit.
Pinotage 2004 Dellrust, Stellenbosch - £16.95
Pinotage is South Africa's own grape variety producing a dark, minty style of wine.
And from our Fine Wine Selection from our own private Cellar......
Montagny 1er Cru Bonnevaux, Olivier Leflaive 2004 - £27.50
One of the first wines to arrive in the country from the flattering 1999 vintage, good growing conditions result in a bright, sweet chardonnay fruit on the nose, leading to a plumply, fruited succulent and stylish palate. An elegant and charming wine.
Chateau Talbot, 4th St Julien 1997 - £42.50
Careful selection led to only 50% of the production being deemed suitable for the Grand Vin. In consequence it has a vibrant fruit on the nose and an elegant, very ripe, full and supple palate with a soft dry finish.
Brian or Jennifer will be happy to discuss these with you. |
